Today we’re gonna talk about Belief, Faith, and Prayer, which is the way I interpret that see it, say it, fix it and move on. I like that. See it. Say it, fix it. Move on. You’re gonna hear that a lot on Sunday and I liked that. Look at what you have to look at. Don’t try to turn away from it. Don’t try to disguise it or mascot or be real Pollyanna about it. Just look at whatever it needs to be fixed. You know? Actually just see it and then talk about it. Say it. You know what? This is to be fixed. We need to have a mental equivalent to change this and then we have to go through the process of fixing it. How do we do that? Through our prayer, through meditation, through our actions that are now result of a new-found belief. I think so.And as soon as you do that, you’re going to be able to move on and as soon as you move on, life is going to start changing again.

Once you think you’ve got everything satisfied and all setup, something else will happen and next thing you know you’ll have another way to expand and evolve. That’s just the evolution of things, that’s the way things go, so we talk about belief, faith, and prayer. See it, say it, fix it and move on. Have a great Sunday! We’ll see many of you in just a few hours for those that we don’t, We will talk to you tomorrow.

I wanted to share a couple of my favorite readings from my textbook. The first one is called “The Power Within Bless Us all”. The power within me is blessing all humankind and is forever healing all with whom I come in contact. The power within me is God and must bless and help and heal all who come near it. Silently, the work goes on and silently all are being helped by this inner power which is operating through me. I would think that inner power within is silently blessing and helping everyone to my thought reaches. The life within me blesses all human. And then finally this one called the quick answer. My answer comes quickly and surely back to me from on high. My answer will not fail me. For the law of the universe is the power to which it comes, I shall not doubt or fear for the answer is swift and certain. My answer comes. I love that. Have a great Saturday! We’ll talk to you tomorrow.

You know, when a world is a kind of going crazy, I was really watching the Olympics and enjoying the expertise and the commitment that these athletes have. It can be really easy to focus on things are going wrong in the world, but taking time to find the things that are going right, that’s a worthy endeavor. Anybody can pick apart what’s going wrong in the world and anyone can tell us what’s happening and why they think that things are happening and what should be done, but I’ll tell you what, when you watch those athletes go for the gold and they give it their best effort, Man, it’s literally just watched the TV and start crying when I see something beautiful happened. It’s like, oh man! A commitment that these people have to excellence.

Now, that’s something I want to focus on today. Instead of the outer conditions that are happening around me. Now, I know I’m going to have to deal with them eventually, but it seems to me that too often we can get sucked into the drama of what is happening around the world and the tragedies and we don’t take time to notice the things that are happening that are good. So I’m taking time to make sure that I notice those things on spelling the flowers, so to speak. I’m seeking them out, making sure that even though life can be difficult, I’m taking time to watch the successful people, committed people, people who are, have their heart and soul, you know, into, into what they’re doing, and I tell you what, those are some real mentors right there. That’s a real role model. That’s what I’m choosing to look at it and emphasize this week. Alright, you guys have a great Friday! It’s Friday. It’s Friday, so have a great Friday! We will talk to you tomorrow.

Dr. Joe Hooper

First off, I want to thank Reverend Laura and Dale Olansky for taking over the daily idea when I was gone and I’m back! I’m back in the saddle and ready to go again. So a lot has gone on in the world since I’ve been gone and I’ve been seeing people making a difference, taking challenges and opportunities that arise from different challenges and problems to make a positive difference, and to this day, you and I no matter what we’re facing and we face a challenge or an opportunity or a difficult situation, there is an opportunity to make a difference in our lives and the lives of others. The surest way to do that is to start taking some sort of action.

The small selfish thing you can do is look at difficulties and challenges and act we as if we contract, instead of we expand and grow deeper. So don’t be selfish. Be selfless. Do something of service for other people, put yourself in a situation where you can see these problems and challenges and you get to actually, um, worked on them and succeed and create a difference for other people and for you, for your life and the lives of others. So look at those great challenges and realize behind every one of those things, is an opportunity for you to stand up, take a spiritual stance, take whatever you need to do, and make the difference, by all means, to require you to take an action. Have a great, great Thursday and I will talk to you tomorrow.

A very close friend of mine is going through something very challenging right now with her teenage daughter and it’s something that she has to live with 24/7 and she has no escape from it and it’s really, really tough on her because that problem has become her. It is within every part of her beingness, with any within every cell and fiber of her. She feels and experiences the problem and when she was talking to me about this and I was listening to her pain and just feeling how saturated she was, I recommended to her to find a place within herself, just carve out a small space within her heart, within her mind where she can just feel something that is beyond the problem.

Something that is untouched by anything that is outside of her. A place we might call spirit, where we connect with that greater presence, that greater something, that something that is beyond time and space, that something that is beyond the human condition, that’s something that is beyond circumstances and she listened to me and she thanked me because she realized that she needed that. She needed to find a place of peace within herself, something she could either find a meditation or if she could find taking a walk by herself, but it was something that she just needed to hear, that she didn’t have to be consumed by something 24/7, that she could find space within herself and so she’s taken my advice and she’s growing that place within herself, making it bigger, and she’s able now to let go of being consumed by this problem, and so if you find that in your life, you’re experiencing something that you just can’t seem to let go of that’s causing you pain, that’s taking all of your attention. Something that you think you just cannot escape. Think again. You have the power within yourself to be able to carve out that space, that space you can slide into, where nothing can touch you, where you can feel at ease, where you can feel peace and it can feel your oneness with spirit. Have a wonderful day today and I will talk to you tomorrow. Namaste!

What Is It That You Really Want To Achieve But You Think Is Impossible - Dale Olansky - 02.20.18

Prior to 1954, it was thought impossible for a person to run a mile in less than four minutes was concerned, dangerous, and it was thought that the body could not handle that type of speed, but in 1954, Roger Bannister was the first person to run a mile in less than four minutes and he opened the door for others to do so as well. And today in our world, it’s routine to run a mile that quickly. What’s interesting is that once people saw that Roger Bannister could do it, then they could do it as well. They could believe it and somebody did it. I think this is a great lesson for us in our own lives. What is it that we want to achieve in our own lives that we think is impossible because other people aren’t doing it. I think it’s in our best interest to stop thinking that we can’t do things because other people aren’t doing it.

Many great inventors ran up against the same type of situation. The Wright brothers, nobody else could fly an airplane and they were crazy because they wanted to do so and now it’s routine for us to fly to different countries or anywhere in the world, and so think about it today. What is it that you really want to achieve but you think is impossible? Visualize yourself doing that thing or whatever that goal is. That’s what Roger Bannister did. He visualizes that he could run that mile in less than four minutes. It was a certainty in his mind and his body and he did it. So today, try applying that in your own life, to something that you think is impossible and see what happens. Have a wonderful Tuesday and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Namaste!

Inspired To Be A Part Of Social Change - Dale Olansky - 02.19.18

I know a lot of people right now who are feeling very inspired to be a part of the social change that is emerging from different things that are happening in our country and in our world and some people have asked me how they can be a part of this change and still come from a place of spiritual wholeness. How is that possible they say when they’re feeling a reaction that’s coming from anger, and what I tell people is that you just need to transmute that energy. There’s nothing wrong with getting upset at what they’re seeing and what we’re seeing and wanting to be a part of the change. It’s just the energy needs to be transmitted so that we come from a place of love, that we come from a place from of desiring to bring about harmony and goodness for all people. That we desire to see unity instead of division.

When we redirect our energy so that we are channeling from the qualities of God rather than anger or reactivity. We come from that place of spiritual wholeness that we are doing right by ourselves and by God, and we’re getting turned into an energy that is ground-in, in that which is the greatest power of all, which is God, and when we are connecting from that greatest power, then we’re creating a whole lot of good in our world. So if we just soften our hearts with our desire to change what we are seeing and come from love, then we’re definitely going to be a part of social change that is gonna create goodness for all beings. Have a wonderful Monday and I will talk to you tomorrow. Namaste!

Keep Moving Forward In Faith And Expectancy Of Your Goods - Rev. Laura - 02.18.18

Rev. Laura Shackelford

A few days ago I talked about being in the moment, being in gratitude and setting intentions. Now you may have thought, well, that’s easy for you to say, but you don’t know what I’m going through and you’re right, I don’t, but I just want to sure you that if you are going through a rough patch right now, know that there is a solution to all of this right around the corner. You just need to keep moving forward in faith and expectancy of your good and a few weeks from now, you’ll not even remember what challenges you were facing. A few months from now, you will have forgotten you ever had. A few years from now, you will wonder why you even let yourself worry so much. Now, I’m not trying to make light of your situation. I just want you to put it in perspective. It’s important to have faith, trust God, trust life, just continue breathing. Have a great Sunday!

Recently our sender has experienced the transition of a few of our beloved congregant, and although it’s painful when someone makes their transition, it is a good reminder that when a loved one leaves the body, it is a cause for a genuine and special joy. Now that can be difficult to experience this joy over the death of a loved one, and sadness is perfectly natural and it’s okay to feel that sadness but for those of us left behind, it’s good to know that your beloved is celebrating as Neale Donald Walsch causes continuation date.

This is the most glorious experience you could possibly imagine. It is truly a heaven and there is this, you will once again reunite with the soul of this loved one. You will never be separate than you aren’t even now, for their essence flies to you at your very thought of them. So this is just a loving reminder that while we grieve on this side of the dale, there is a celebration of the continuation of life on the other side. Have a great day!

Sorrow Makes Us All Children Again - Rev. Laura – 02.16.18

Rev. Laura Shackelford

Ralph Waldo Emerson said that sorrow makes us all children again. I don’t know about you, but I’m so saddened by the shooting and killing of innocent children and teachers in Florida on Wednesday. I can’t even begin to imagine the sorrow those families are going through. You know as spiritual beings are set, this time that we need to step into our light and be those beacons of love that the world so needs, we had to stand resolute and knowing that all the changes occurring right now on this planet are leading to a better life for all. I believe that Up With People, we’re experiencing are leading us back to basics, back to the things that matter, back to our values and families, relationships, business politics. We are being called to look at what is working, what is not working, and where we each need to work a little harder on being a little more compassionate, more accepting of each other, being grateful for the people in our lives and never taking precious life for granted.

So I’m trying to find some good in my sadness than what I’ve come up with is that if you are sad, it says something about you. I’d rather be sad than angry unless you use that anger to motivate you, to take positive action, to contribute to a better world. So today lets not wallow in our sadness. Let it awaken in each of us knowing that there’s good coming from this incident, even if we can’t see it right now and lets each one of us pray for those families and everyone affected by the shootings in Florida. Have a great day!
